He also wears a chain around his neck. He is often seen wearing a black leather jacket over jeans and a T-shirt. Not real leather of course.
Personality: Brash, sarcastic, and a pesomist by nature, Jannik is not the easiest person to get along with. He doesn't like to make too many friends. This results from abandonment issues. He also has trouble trusting people and often pushes them away when they get too close to him. Though he doesn't show it, Jannik deeply cares for the kids. Especially those who have been abandoned or abused. He can relate to them. He also has a humourous side which he rarely shows.
History: Jannik grew up in Amsterdam, Holland. As a youngster, he proved to be quite the handful. He had trouble focusing in school. He was often disruptive in class and not much better at home. He was constantly getting into trouble whether it was for getting into fights at school or stealing things. Unable to take it, his parents sent him to live with a relative. After that he never saw or spoke to his parents again. As he entered his teens, Jannik's behaviour only got worse. Now he was stealing cars, drinking, and using drugs. He ran away at sixteen and ended up living at a friend's place. But this only lasted six months. One day he came home only to discover that his friend had overdosed on pills. The young man was rushed to the hospital but didn't make it. Still in shock, Jannik returned to the relative's house. He eventually went back to school and threw himself into his schoolwork. After finishing school, Jannik moved out. He worked a string of odd jobs. None of them lasting more than a few months.
One day, Jannik began suffering from migraines. They were so bad he was often hospitalized. He went through a battery of tests but it seemed nobody knew what was causing these headaches. Frustrated, Jannik checked himself out of the hospital and went home. While lying down, something strange happened. The first thing he noticed was that pieces of the ceiling were falling all around him and there were angry shouts from the neighbours who lived in the apartment above him. After that incident Jannik was kicked out of the building. While looking for a new place he was approached by Professor Xavier who informed him he was a mutant and told him of a place for people like him. Jannik thought Xavier was crazy and refused at first. But he eventually decided to give it a try a few months later after being forced out of his second apartment. Now he will be a teacher at Xavier's England branch.
Powers: Jannik has the ability to absorb energy and convert it into concussive blasts which he expels from his body.
Power related weaknesses: Jannik's body cannot store this energy so he must discharge several times a day or his body will overload. Also his powers won't help him much if he is sick or tired.
