Ok, this character is one of my personal favourites, he’s the half brother of Daquan, but the two of them are total opposites. Since this version of Daquan is an a-hole, a ‘ladies man’ and a criminal, this version of Kingsley is a nice guy, he’s gay and he’s an X-Man. Also, he has the cutest dog you will ever see. Ever.
Position: Former X-Man/Leader of the X-Team
Name: Kingsley Albert Ross
Nicknames: King
Codename: Albatross
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Appearance: Kingsley is a tall (6'3) and very muscular, African American man. He looks much older than he actually is. He has a bald head, brown eyes, and usually wears his X-Man uniform, even when just going to get groceries. All the other clothes that he owns all seem to feature the X-symbol somewhere on them too. You can see what he looks like in his X-Men uniform here (it's based on the X-Men: Evolution costumes): i158.photobucket.com/albums/t111/theultimatewebhead/KingsleyRoss.jpg
Personality: King is very mature for his age, and is filled with a strong sense of duty, loyalty and decency, Professor Xavier declared him to be a 'natural leader'. This is probably due to the fact that he practically raised his mother and siblings, and so had to mature quickly. He has experienced (and still experiences) a lot of discrimination because he is a perfect target for it. He's a black, gay mutant. He kinda sees it coming. But he takes it all in his stride, and is quick witted enough to make a comeback whenever someone insults him, and powerful enough to defend himself if things get violent. Having spent the majority of his life as a father figure to his younger siblings, King feels it is his responsibility to be a good role model, but this doesn't mean that he's a pushover when it comes to kids, as he knows how to discipline them.
History: Kingsley is the half-brother of Daquan Jackson, although neither of them are aware of this. Daquan’s father had an affair with Kingsley’s (rather slutty) mother, a few years before Daquan was born, which resulted in Kingsley being conceived. (although his mother wasn’t sure who the father was, having slept with lots of different men at the time) When his mother, Teresa Ross, discovered she was pregnant, her friends, and her own mother, convinced her to try to settle down. She did, and when Kingsley was born, Teresa raised him well, and she also got into a long term relationship with a man named Jamie Prince, hoping to get a father for Kingsley. Instead, that man became the father of Teresa’s other children, two daughters, Bethany and Julia, and a son, David. Eventually, Jamie passed away due to cancer, and Teresa herself was soon diagnosed with cancer too. This all happened when King was about 9 years old, Bethany was 5, Julia was 3 and David was 2. With his mother very ill, King, ‘the man of the house’, was left to raise his three siblings, and look after his mother. When King reached 16, his mother passed away, and he spent the next 4 years raising his family, and practicing boxing, a sport he had become very good at.
When he was 20 however, his mutant powers emerged, and he had to leave his family to go to the Xavier Institute, and try to learn how to control his powers. After spending a brief time in the Institute, King mastered his powers and left the institute to go back home. When he got there, he found they were having serious money troubles, Bethany’s job didn’t pay nearly as well as King’s, and he had been fired when his mutant powers emerged. (his boss was very anti-mutant) King needed money, fast, and he volunteered for scientific experiments. The men behind these experiments were scientists, attempting to research how mutations occurred, and whether they could be replicated, enhanced or removed entirely. The men were not anti-mutant, as they were in fact, mutants themselves. They were willing to pay a large sum of money, due to the risk of the experiments, which King happily accepted.
They then experimented on King, trying to replicate the powers of another mutant volunteer, who had superhuman durability. The experiments were eventually successful, and King was sent home, with the money, and a second power too. He spent the next few years with his family, but on his 24th birthday, he was approached by Professor Xavier a second time. Xavier invited him to join the X-Men, and King decided to accept, since his siblings were now old enough to take care of themselves. The X-Men trained him to use his powers to their full extent, but this didn’t take long and King soon became a skilled fighter and occasional leader within the team. Eventually, due to the huge surge in the amount of mutants, Xavier found he had more X-Men than he could handle, and also more than he really needed. He decided that, as well as creating other branches of his school in different countries, he would also separate the new X-Men into other teams too. Kingsley was selected to lead the England branch of the X-Men and, after selecting his team-mates personally, the team was sent off to England.
Powers: King has two, very different powers, unrelated to each other, and several other abilities that result from him using these two powers in particular ways. Concussion Blasts - This is King's natural mutant power. He can convert his own energy into a red concussive blast, how much energy he spends preparing the blast determines its strength. The amount of energy he gives also affects the amount of light and heat energy produced by the blast. However, if King produces a very strong blast, it will often knock him back, sometimes off his feet.
Superhuman Durability - After volunteering for experiments, King was given the abilities of another mutant. These abilities made every part of his body almost indestructible, including his skin, organs, bones and muscles. This means that penetrating any part of King's body is nearly impossible, but it has been done.
Power related weaknesses: The use of his first power depends entirely on how much energy he has, so if King is exhausted, he won't be able to use them effectively. Also using too much of his energy at once can cause him to pass out. His second power has it's drawbacks because if he is damaged internally, or has to have a major operation, his skin will prevent doctors from helping in any way.
Fighting style: An expert strategist, King is best suited to staying back in a battle and commanding others, but he is still a formidable opponent. He is a skilled boxer and has been trained in combat by both Wolverine and Beast, which combined with his energy blasts make him dangerous at range and up close. He often changes his fighting style to suit his opponent.
Pets (if any): Hank - His bulldog, a leaving present from the X-Men. King named it after one of the X-Men, for rather obvious reasons. The dog is 11 months old and looks like this: img523.imageshack.us/img523/2209/90839093uu1.jpg
Anything else: He's homosexual, in case you didn’t realise that when I mentioned it earlier, and prefers to befriend women because usually they show him respect, whereas men just poke fun at the fact that he's gay. He still has a lot of male friends, but it usually takes time for them to start liking him. (Not long though, he's a likeable guy)

The amount of energy he gives also affects the amount of light and heat energy produced by the blast. However, if King produces a very strong blast, it will often knock him back, sometimes off his feet.
- Flight - By using both hands to shoot energy behind him, King has the ability to propel himself through the air and has practiced using this a lot, meaning he is very skilled at it. His agility and skill in the air were one of the major reasons for his X-Men codename.
- Light Production - By concentrating on creating a bright blast of light, King is able to create a flash of bright light that he can use to temporarily blind his opponents.
- Heat Production - By doing the same as above, but concentrating on heat, King is able to create red hot blasts that can burn through or melt substances.
Superhuman Durability - After volunteering for experiments, King was given the abilities of another mutant. These abilities made every part of his body almost indestructible, including his skin, organs, bones and muscles. This means that penetrating any part of King's body is nearly impossible, but it has been done.
- Enhanced Strength - His durability affects all parts of his body, including his muscles, making them harder and stronger. Combining this with the fact that he works out a lot, results in King being stronger than average. He's not strong enough to be classified as 'super strong', but he is almost on par with the strongest humans in the world.
- Enhanced Stamina - Another side effect of his durability, this is very useful in helping King with his other power, as he doesn't run out of energy very quickly. With the addition of this ability, King can now stay in the air for about three hours before running out of energy.
